2004 Members of the Year

Carl Bradley

At the Division Board meeting on September 18, 2003, in Montgomery, Alabama, the board of directors of the Alabama Division was proud to introduce the Alabama PBA Member of the Year for 2003.  Officer Carl Bradley of the Orange Beach Police Department was honored this year for the reasons noted below.  Officer Bradley is a member of the Baldwin County Chapter and serves on their board of directors.

At its August 12, 2003 meeting, the Baldwin County Chapter board members voted unanimously to nominate Officer Carl Bradley for PBA Member of the Year.  Officer Bradley serves on the board of directors of the Baldwin County Chapter and is currently chairman of the membership committee.  He is employed with the Orange Beach Police Department.

Since being elected membership chairman, Officer Bradley has worked tirelessly building our chapter membership.  In the past year, during his tenure, our membership has grown from approximately 60 members to nearly 130 presently.  This is a direct result of Carl Bradley’s efforts.  Orange Beach Police Department now has more than 90% participation in PBA membership and this is due directly to Carl Bradley’s recruiting efforts.  This exciting accomplishment was due in part to Officer Bradley’s personal contact with elected officials in the area to have payroll deduction established for PBA dues.  Carl Bradley consistently sets an excellent example and represents the PBA well.

Since being elected a little more than a year ago, our local board has striven to make our chapter stronger and more influential.  Because of our efforts, and particularly due to our ever-increasing membership numbers, we have gained the attention of the local political community.  This is another way in which Carl Bradley has contributed to PBA.

As Division President, it is with great pride and honor that I take this opportunity to bestow this distinguished award to Carl Bradley as Alabama’s 2003-2004 PBA Member of the Year.
